GOLD AWARD PROJECT BY ADDISON PUNCH

My name is Addison Punch and I am a member of Conover First United Methodist Church and Girl Scout Troop #10441. For my gold project, I designed, with the help of Keith Hall, a meditation garden at our church’s Columbarium. I removed the old landscaping and replaced it with new bushes, plants and added benches. You are welcome to visit the Meditation Garden. If you will click on the link below, there are some photos taken while the work was being done.

NEW BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITY

The Book of Revelation

(TWO CLASS TIMES OFFERED)

Meets for 8 Tuesdays from 7:00-8:15 p.m. or Wednesdays from 10:30-11:45 a.m.

This class will begin with a 3-session pre-study on “The End of the World”

Led by Pastor John and beginning February 22nd/23rd

Cost:  $10.00 for our manual

Frequently misunderstood, misinterpreted, and sometimes even misused, the book of Revelation provides a powerful ending for the Bible as it unveils Jesus Christ in final victorious glory. Written to followers who were feeling overwhelmed and ready to give up, this book was an encouragement to remain faithful.

Through vivid imagery, John writes Revelation to reveal the end of human history, the return of Christ, and the establishment of a new heaven and a new earth.

His message of hope assures Christians that God is in control of all past, present, and future events, and that Jesus will rule in ultimate victory over all humanity and creation.

Join us for this 8-week class (& 3 “prequel” sessions) as we explore this amazing book, and how it can instruct our life and faith.

MOVING FORWARD CONFERENCE

Hello friends, on February 5, from 8:30-3:00, Christ Church in Hickory is hosting the Moving Forward Conference featuring prominent pastors from the Wesleyan Covenant Association that we all know. What is happening with the future of the United Methodist Church? When will we know? What should we be doing in the meantime to further God’s kingdom? These are some of the questions that will be discussed. The afternoon session features workshops that will help us better minister to the world in these uncertain times. I would like to invite you to register and attend one or both sessions. Hope to see you there! Text or email me for more information.
